Walking the Talk: How Legacy Construction Stepped Up for Heart Health This October
This October, the Legacy Construction team laced up for our 2025 WALKtober Challenge, a month dedicated to wellness, teamwork, and giving back.
Each day our employees walked 10,000 steps, they earned $5, and Legacy matched it with a $5 donation to the American Heart Association (AHA). Together, we logged thousands of miles and supported lifesaving heart health research.
Our team truly went the extra mile!
🥇 Miriam, Gianna, Nancy, and Shane – 31 days of 10K steps
🥈 Brianna and Savanna – 30 days of 10K steps
🥉 Gabbi and Mallory – 26 days days of 10K steps
The month wrapped up at the 2025 Central Valley Heart and Stroke Walk, where 1,700 walkers raised $245,000, a record-breaking event for our community. Legacy was proud to be part of it with our own team of walkers, custom Legacy Heart Walk shirts designed by our marketing team, and a shared goal to make every step count. Together, our WALKtober challenge and team donations raised $1,935 for the American Heart Association, helping fund lifesaving research and education right here in our community.
We were proud to cheer on our CEO, Bill Cummings, who was announced as the 2026 Heart and Stroke Walk Chair. This recognition highlights Legacy’s ongoing commitment to community wellness and giving back, and we’re excited to continue that momentum in the year ahead with even more impactful health and outreach initiatives.
At Legacy, we’re proud to build more than projects; we’re building a healthier, stronger community. Here’s to every step making a difference!
