Superintendent

A Superintendent will work closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Subcontractors supervising a range of projects from ground up, commercial, industrial, T.I. and new construction. Ideal candidates will have at least 5-10 years’ experience in Construction and experience with healthcare facilities is a plus. Candidates should be detail oriented and must demonstrate a willingness to learn new technologies, skills, and procedures. 

A Superintendent is responsible for a wide variety of duties related to the complete process of several projects at once. They must provide administrative functions on all phases of construction from procurement through closeout. Hours may vary with project schedules; typical hours will be Monday through Friday 6AM – 3PM.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

  • Plan for activities, create short interval schedules and do material take offs

  • Inspect work in progress to make sure that work conforms to contract documents and adheres to project schedules

  • Generate construction documents and communication

  • Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction means and methods

  • Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, sub-contractors and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints and construction problems

  • Supervise Vendors and all other onsite for labor safety, quality, accuracy and workmanship

  • Implement problem solving skills and create alternatives

  • Understand building methods and techniques

  • Being accountable for project results

  • Maintain a clean and safe job site

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED ARE:

  • Excellent communication skills/trustworthy

  • Plan reading skills for all trades

  • Read and update project schedules

  • Federal and state regulatory codes

  • Review and analyze the contract documents

  • Accurately post As Built Plans

  • Good time management and ability to stay on task

  • Understand all trades of construction

  • Organized and proficient in digital documentation, Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Experience in Dropbox and MS Project
