Building Leaders: Alex and Heather Graduate from Downtown Academy
At Legacy Construction, we take pride in highlighting the accomplishments of our team. Today, we recognize two outstanding members of Legacy Realty & Development—Alex and Heather—as they graduate from Class XI of Downtown Academy, a prestigious program by the Downtown Fresno Partnership.
Downtown Academy is a transformative experience designed to develop forward-thinking leaders who understand the complexities of urban renewal. Over the past 10 months, Alex and Heather have immersed themselves in learning about revitalization strategies, infrastructure development, and sustainable growth. Their journey included an in-depth exploration of urban redevelopment challenges on projects such as the future Moses McQueens’s, a new bar in a historic home in downtown Fresno, and an overnight field trip to observe successful revitalization efforts in other cities.
Outside of their studies, they actively contributed to downtown Fresno’s growth through volunteer projects and group initiatives. They expanded their professional network by connecting with key business, government, and community leaders, gaining insights into policies shaping Fresno’s future. A highlight of their experience was collaborating with fellow participants to organize a downtown storefront event, bringing new energy and engagement to the area.
Clover & Craft, the event Alex and Heather helped organize, was held inside the beautifully restored Sun Stereo Warehouse—a space that captures the spirit of what’s happening in Downtown Fresno. The event was all about bringing people together and showcasing the amazing energy and momentum downtown. The event brought together local artists, featured a DIY beaded bracelet giveaway, and music from a live DJ. Whether it was someone’s first time visiting or they were already familiar with the space, it offered a fun and engaging way to connect with others and explore all the businesses and activity growing there.
Their graduation from Downtown Academy marks an important milestone for both Heather, Alex, and for Legacy Realty & Development. Their expanded knowledge and leadership skills will help drive our mission of creating meaningful, sustainable developments throughout Fresno.
